This two or three hours tour begins with a visit to Zanzibar's colorful market, alive with the buzz of locals bartering fresh vegetables and baskets of tropical fruit, amongst the heady aroma of herbs and spices, we continue onto the site of a cathedral built in 1874 then to the Zanzibar Museum, Tippu Tip's House, the former British Club, the Old Fort and the recently renovated Indian Dispensary if you will have enough time. Your tour ends with a stroll through the narrow streets of Stone Town. You will real enjoy walking around the narrow streets of Stone Town where most of the houses date back more than 150 years. You will see many bazaars, curio shops, restaurants, stores selling souvenirs.
The islands became part of the historical record of the wider world when Persian traders discovered them and used them as a base for voyages between the Middle East, India, and Africa. The Persians settled at what became Zanzibar City (Stone Town) as a convenient point from which to trade with East African coastal towns.
