RAJIPA DAVID

M.D and Driver-Guide

David has been working in the tourism industry for over 11years and he has accumulated extensive skills and experience concerning bush knowledge, His operational dedication and expertise ensures a quality fulfilling trip in Tanzania authentic Africa.

In addition to his management, David leads clients on safari with his professional skills, keeping his experience up to date from day to day. His favorite park is Ruaha National Park and he always makes his clients amazed from the beginning to the end of the safari; all full of smiles. David has received his guiding skills at Field Guide Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) courses in Ruaha where he renewed his experience and he is a fluent English speaker, Swahili and mother tongue.


NASSORO LIKAYA

Driver-Guide

Nassoro entered the tourism industry since 2012 after completing his Secondary Education he joined the tourism college, making field work in Ruaha, learning camping safaris and but later in 2014 he thought he should go back to school so he enrolled for French courses which he completed in 2016 at Patiance Le Centre De La Langue Etrangere in Arusha Nassoro . As he worked in Ruaha for 2 years then Nassoro has been an active tour guide and he enjoys his work. He did Tour Guiding at Mount Meru Tour Guide College in Arusha and he has been updating himself in the field. He is always with his wildlife books to make sure he is current. Nassoro has guided many tourists and all ends up praising him. When you meet Nassoro you may feel a stranger but in minutes you will be friends. His smile and sense of humor receives high credit from his safari members.


JASMINE DANIEL

Travel Consultant

Jasmine was born in Kilimanjaro Region which is the base of the highest mountain/peak in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro which stands 5,895 meters (19,336 feet) above sea level. She attended her primary education at Makole primary school in Kilimanjaro before undertaking her secondary school education (2008-2011) at AL hijra seminar school. Between 2012 and 2013 Jasmine attended Tour Guiding training at Macmillan training college in Dar es salaam City where she learnt tour guiding. Immediately after completing her training, in 2014 she joined National College of tourism for Certificate of travel and tourism and currently Jasmine is holding a diploma of travel and tourism.


METHEW BABU

Mountain Guide

Babu has been working as Kilimanjaro and Meru Mountains Guide for years and he cannot recall as to how many times he has been at the top…..”Oh! I can’t Count kabisa”

As many others, Babu started as a Porter and then Assistant Guide. In 1987, he was among those nominated by Kilimanjaro National Park Authority (KINAPA) for a one month Mountain guide training and so was certified as Full Licensed Kilimanjaro Mountain Guide and He is fluent in English, Swahili and Kimarangu which is his mother tongue.


NGASESSA MKALIMOTO (Benny)

Tour Guide

Benny holds bachelor degree from Sokoine University of agriculture Before joining Bateleur safaris, he worked with different travel companies as in Tanzania learning about animal behavior and nature preservation and he took more time working in Ruaha. He also worked with Selous butembo camp as marketing manager and was dealing with reservation and tour arrangements. He has been working for Bateleur safaris sales and marketing coordinator since 2014.


KENNEDY OWANO

Driver-Guide

Kennedy started his wildlife education in 2010, while working with iconic safari guide in Ruaha National Park. He has since studied Tour guiding and customer service and traveled to Belgium in his pursuit of education and knowledge, attaining a formal accreditation as a walking safari guide, a first aid responder, and even attended a marine rescue course. He has been guiding professionally since 2012. Kennedy is a well rounded guide with a deep understanding of the ecology of Tanzania’s ecosystems, and a passion for ornithology. His curiosity, cheerful character, and his natural ability to engage people have earned him a sterling reputation as one of the top safari guides in Tanzania. Kennedy loves exploring untouched wildlife areas and holds a special place in his heart to the grand Selous Game Reserve in Southern Tanzania, where he spent 2 years as a resident guide then joined Bateleur Safaris family representing and guiding through Serengeti, Ngorongoro, lake Manyara and Tarangire national parks over northern circuit and southern Tanzania he guides through Selous, Mikumi, Udzungwa and Ruaha. Kennedy is fluent in English and Kiswahili. When not on safari Kennedy lives in Arusha.


GEORGE MWAKATUNDU “Gee”

Driver-Guide

George has been working as Driver- Guide for over 8 years. He is knowledgeable on Mammals & Plants. Before getting to know about photography tourism George helped with his father in hunting activities in Selous game reserve throughout his Childhood. Gee attended his guiding school by Mount Meru Tour Guide College in Arusha for about three years which keeps him very confident and professional, ask him any question on flora and fauna you will have the answer. Gee has been out in the bush many times with Twitches, so that he can identify varieties of birds from far with his naked eye or by their sounds.


STANLEY MKONDA (Stone)

Driver

Stanley has been working with Bateleur Safaris since its establishment (2014). Stone has extensive experience in Mechanical engineering as well as driving skills. He started to work as a safari Driver which has proved to be a plus in his knowledge. He knows the routes without a map or GPS especially Ruaha national park, Mikumi and Selous. Out of the bush Stone drives among road transfers around the country especially pick-up and drop-off in Dar es salaam, Iringa, Arusha, Mbeya and more.


Innocent Kisayage

Driver-Guide

Innocent, was always a passionate naturalist. He started his formal training under the Delima tourism college for over 2 years in 2011. He then joined Ruaha hilltop Lodge then Mkuyu Guiding school in Ruaha working as a resident guide, training as a walking guide and as well as birding around the boundary of the park. Through the years, he participated in many training programs, from walking safaris guiding in Ruaha and client care. In 2015 he moved to Iringa, and joined Bateleur Safaris & Tours, where to this day he is one of the most passionate and dedicated guides in our team. A knowledgeable guide, Innocent led safaris all over southern Tanzania parks and participated in many scientific forays to pursue his passion for wilderness and wildlife. When not on safari, he resides in Tungamalenga village near Ruaha area which he helps other junior guides for the Training.


EMMANUEL CHALAMILA- Emma

Driver-Guide

Emma was born and raised in a small village near Iringa (Kalenga). Being outside, immersed in nature, has always been a part his life, from catching tadpoles, birding, termites and other outdoor pursuits.

Emma completed a guiding course in University Iringa and is a certified First Aid Wilderness Responder; He holds a degree in Cultural Anthropology and Tourism from University of Iringa former Tumaini University.

Emma used to work with Wildlife Conservation Society as Conservation and Tourism officer where he got wonderful experience about wildlife and different cultures Upon Guiding around Tanzania, Emma began work as a safari camp guide in Ruaha and the Selous game reserve, guiding and leading walks. Since 2008 he has been working as an independent guide and now works with Bateleur safaris & Tours. A passionate conservationist and activist, Emma was a driving force behind the forming of the Iringa tour Guides association. Not only is Emma considered to be one of the most respected private guides in Tanzania, but also one of the pre-eminent guide trainers in east Africa. He lives in Iringa but always moving with tourists over the country.
