The udzungwa mountains are almost unearthly. An enchanted forest of leafy glades, franked with sunshine, where fungus, lichen, moss and ferns ingratiate themselves into even dump crevice, it is at once both vivid detail and larger than life . A new variety of African violet was discovered in a shelter of a 30m high tree. It is a hot house nurturing species found nowhere on earth. A secret bank account of precious genetic stock of its six types of primate two are endemic -The Iringa red colabus monkey and the Sanje crested mangabey not discovered until 1979.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi

Departure to Mikumi, you will arrive in the afternoon for lunch and leisure, dinner and an overnight at the hotel in Mikumi

Day 2: Mikumi National Park

Breakfast and transfer to Mikumi National Park for a full day Safari, starting with sunrise game drive to Mkata, Chamgore (place of the python), and Mkata Food Plain within Mikumi National Park. Lunch at the camp in Mikumi then proceeds with game drive until sunset before dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Ruaha National Park

Breakfast then drive to Udzungwa (it takes about 2 hours). Meet the guide and head out to the Sanje waterfalls. It takes 3 to 4 hours’ hiking through the green forest. Expect to see monkeys, including rare indigenous Iringa red colabus, and some ancient trees—some of them 200 years old! Explore tropical forests until the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at a campsite Day 5: Udzungwa – Dar es Salaam

Morning breakfast and then descend to the Ranger Post meet the waiting driver and drive to Mikumi Bush for lunch then drive back to Dar es Salaam.
