Mikumi National Park

Forming the northern border of Africans biggest game reserve the vast Selous-Mikumi is the most popular of Tanzanians National Parks, the most accessible park of a 75,000 square km (47,000 square miles) -wilderness that stretches most of the shores of the Indian Ocean. The main feature of the park is the Mikumi flood plain, along with the mountains ranges that border the park on two sides. Open grassland dominate the flood plain, eventually merging with the miombo woodland covering the lower hills. The woodland is the favorites haunt of the lion ,sometimes perching high in the trees to keep their feet dry from the sticky black mud of the wet season, its home of to formidable herds of buffalo, compact elephant than of the rest national park and birdlife like joining star - a lilac brested roller.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Pick-up from the hotel/resident house in Dar es Salaam and drive to Mikumi National Park (it takes 4-5 hours’ drive) transfer to the camp for lunch. Late afternoon game drive until sunset dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 2: Mikumi National Park

Breakfast and transfer to Mikumi National Park for a full day Safari, starting with sunrise game drive to Mkata, Chamgore (place of the python), and Mkata Food Plain within Mikumi National Park. Lunch at the camp in Mikumi then proceeds with game drive until sunset before dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Return to Dar es Salaam

Early morning (sunrise game viewing) game drive, return to hotel for breakfast and packing ready to leave, start driving back to Dar es Salaam, lunch at Morogoro Town; Return to your hotel in Dar es Salaam.
